The best time of day for dolphin watching at Lovina Beach is early morning, just before sunrise. Tours typically start around 5:30 AM, as this is when the waters are calm and the dolphins are most active. The experience is even more magical during Bali’s dry season, which runs from May to September.

Among all the waterfalls in Bali, Sekumpul is considered by many the most stunning. Located deep in the jungles of Buleleng Regency, this cluster of seven cascades surrounded by beautiful greenery is a sight to behold.

9: Munduk Village, Waterfalls and Monkeys

Munduk; a charming village in the mountains of North Bali, is a haven for nature lovers. It’s surrounded by dense forests, coffee plantations, and an array of waterfalls. Two of the most popular ones, Munduk Waterfall and Melanting Waterfall, are easily accessible from the village.

We spent an entire morning trekking through the area, breathing in the cool mountain air and soaking in the unspoiled beauty.

Playful Monkeys: There are several spots in Munduk where monkeys are everywhere, adding a lively and entertaining element to your visit. It’s easy to stop and watch these playful creatures, the true wild inhabitants of Bali. Bringing bananas or nuts can make the experience even more interactive.

We stumbled upon a local woman selling snacks for the monkeys right at one of these spots, leading to some hilarious moments as the monkeys eagerly grabbed their treats.

This stunning temple in Sangsit Village is dedicated to Dewi Sri, the goddess of rice and fertility. Known for its unique carvings, Pura Dalem Jagaraga located in the far norht if the island, is an intriguing temple to visit. The stone reliefs here depict scenes from Balinese life and even European influences from the colonial period, such as depictions of cars and airplanes.

Pura Ulun Danu Batur

Although its the second largest in Bali, I do not recommend coming here. The staff is rude and try to sell you everything, its looks deserted and full of garbage.

I’ll admit, the thought of leaping from a 10-meter cliff (uhm no not the 15 meter) was intimidating at first, but the rush of adrenaline made it one of the highlights of our North Bali adventure.

❗ There used to be a big litter problem, but they are cleaning this now on a regular base.
Still not the cleanest beach and it can be pretty crowded at times.

Air Sanih (Yeh Sanih) Beach

This beach stands out for its natural spring water pools, which provide a refreshing alternative to swimming in the ocean. Located east of Lovina, Air Sanih Beach offers a mix of volcanic black sand and rocky shorelines. It’s a quieter, less crowded.

It truly feels like stepping into another world. When I arrived, the first thing that caught my attention was the majestic Mount Batur, an active volcano surrounded by the glistening waters of Lake Batur.

If you’re up for an adventure, you’ll love the sunrise hike to the summit—it’s an early start, but trust me, seeing the first light break over the mountains is absolutely worth it.

What I found especially enjoyable in Kintamani were the coffee plantations tucked into the hills. You can sip on freshly brewed coffee while learning about how it’s grown and processed right there. It’s a relaxing way to spend the morning.
